KPMG defendants, 16 partners accused of creating illegal tax shelters for wealthy clients got a break from Judge Kaplan when he ruled that prosecutors had unconstitutionally pressured KPMG to withhold paying their legal fees. Apparently, government prosecutors had gently leaned upon KPMG to stop paying huge legal bills in defence of their ex-partners, so that the firm could potentially avoid being criminally indicted...
