Big Four Firms Try to Mitigate Audit Risk


Several of the Big Four firms have been in the news recently due to a common issue: the long-tailed effects from the risk of auditing public companies....

Ernst & Young, Pwc, and Deloitte (and Grant Thornton) are all actively involved in the Open Compliance and Ethics Group (OCEG), a nonprofit organization that develops guidance, tools and resources to assist companies in strengthening governance, risk managment, compliance and ethics. OCEG has recently released an Internal Audit Guide to assist in the evaluation of compliance program design and operation. It is also useful for external auditors who must assess these non-financial risks. It is available for free at www.oceg.org.
