BearingPoint Launches Search Practice Based on Google

BearingPoint becomes the first of the Big4 firms to start a new service solution to help enterprises install Google search solutions. The goal of Google's Enterprise Search Appliance is to enable the company employee to search for and locate relevant information from the organization's multiple data storage domains.

Anyone who works in a large company knows that data is often scattered in multiple formats all over: the user's local hard drive, the company network, the internal website and the external website...

fyi -- BearingPoint still does not use Google internally, at least not anywhere I have seen. Our search capabilities are dismal -- I don't understand why we don't plug one of these Google-boxes in and let it index... of course eating our dog-food has never been our strength.
